Jenny Marie Godwin, 44 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she attempted to choke out another woman at a home on Calhoun Road.
Police said that Godwin placed her hands around the victim’s throat and squeezed causing them not to be able to breathe.
Reports added that Godwin then proceeded to back hand the victim on the left side of her race, causing redness and swelling under her eye.
Godwin is charged with aggravated assault, battery and cruelty to children.
