An inmate at the Floyd County Jail, Richard David Whittington, 28 of Rome, is facing additional charges after reports said he smashed a wall mounted television valued at $219 with a hard rod causing the scene to shatter.
Whittington is also accused of attempting to start a riot when he struck another inmate on the back, leaving visible markings.
Reports added that Whittington is also accused of threatening to kill officers and the other inmate while ignoring commands to follow orders.
Whittington is charged with unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution, obstruction of law enforcement, terroristic threats/acts, interference with government property and battery.
