Cedartown Woman Accused of Strangling Family Member as Five Children Allegedly Watched

Amiah LaTrae Barnett, 35 of Cedartown, was arrested in Rome after reports said she attacked a 60 year-old family member at her home at Etowah Terrace.

Reports said that Barnett strangled the victim until she could no longer breathe.   The incident allegedly occurred in front of five small children back on July 9^th.

Barnett is charged with aggravated assault and five counts cruelty to children.
