Linda Kyle Carter, 37 of Columbus, was jailed in Rome after reports said she helped in attempting to smuggle drugs into the Floyd County Prison.
Police said that Carter conspired with an inmate to introduce 15.38 grams of methamphetamine, 14 suboxone strops, one pound of smoking tobacco, a vaping device, two packs of rolling papers and a denture reline kit to the facility.
Officers said that Carter was to leave the items at the Walker Mountain Landfill to be picked up and took back into the prison. The conspiracy was planned through recorded prison telecommunications. Reports added that the drugs were intercepted before being attained by the inmate, Steven Chase Ramsey.
Carter is charged with two counts attempt or conspiracy to violate Georgia controlled substance and items prohibited by an inmate.
