Jasmine Esmeralda Heard, 33 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she committed a hit and run on Martin Luther King Blvd.
Reports said that Heard struck another vehicle before fleeing the scene on foot. Police stated that Heard left her vehicle behind after crashing into the victim. Reports went on to say that the innocent driver sustained serious injuries from the crash.
It was later discovered that Heard had been driving on a suspended license during the accident.
Heard is charged with hit and run resulting in serious injury, failure to maintain lane, seat belt violation and driving on a suspended license.
