David Wayne Edwards, 58 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he stole a misplaced iPhone at the Waffle House on Shorter Avenue.
Police said that Edwards found the misplaced cellphone, which was valued at $900, and placed it in his pocket and left the restaurant.
Reports added that Edwards was later found and recorded selling the iPhone at the West Rome Walmart.
Edwards is charged with theft of lost/mislaid property.
