Reginald Demetrius Chatman Jr, 40 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found in possession of drugs after leading officers on a foot chase.
Reports said that Chatman was pulled over in a traffic stop on East 5th Avenue near Glen Milner Blvd. During the stop, Chatman refused to exit the vehicle, then, upon exiting the vehicle, he broke free from police and fled on foot.
After being captured, he was found in possession of five different schedule II controlled substances and marijuana. The pills, which officers said Chatman did not have a prescription for, were located inside a Bayer aspirin bottle.
Chatman is charged with possession of marijuana, five counts possession of a schedule II controlled substance, obstruction of law enforcement, drugs not in original container and probation violation.
