The Gordon County community is stepping up to support a local family after a Gordon County E-911 employee gave birth to her daughter months ahead of schedule.
Kaycee Conroy recently welcomed her daughter, Alice Mae, who was born prematurely weighing just 1.5 pounds. Alice remains in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where she is receiving specialized medical care as she continues to grow and develop.
To help ease the financial burden on the family during what is expected to be an extended hospital stay, friends, coworkers and community supporters have organized a fundraising effort.
Organizers say donations will assist with expenses related to frequent travel to and from the hospital, fuel costs, meals, household bills, medical expenses, baby supplies and other unexpected needs that often arise during a lengthy NICU stay.
Those wishing to help can participate in a donation fundraiser or make monetary contributions and gift card donations.
Donations may be dropped off at the Gordon County E-911 Center, located at 100 Nine One One Boulevard in Calhoun.
Financial contributions can also be made electronically through Cash App at $kayceeconroy or Venmo at @kaycee-conroy. Donors are asked to include “Alice Mae” in the memo line to ensure contributions are properly directed.
Organizers are encouraging the community to keep the Conroy family in their thoughts as Alice Mae continues her fight and progress in the NICU.
