Perry Lee Barnes Jr, 44 of Rome, was jailed this week after reports said he forged a check belonging to Robert H. Edwards DDS.
Police said that Barnes altered a check belonging to the dentist and deposited it into his personal checking account. Reports stated that Barnes “washed” the check and put his name into the “to the order of” line.
Barnes is charged with forgery in the 4th degree.
