Rockmart High School student-athlete Briley Malone has been named a recipient of the 2026 Dreams of Lois Scholarship, earning recognition for perseverance and leadership in the face of personal loss.

The $1,000 scholarship, presented by Dreams of Lois Incorporated in partnership with Positive Athlete Georgia, honors student-athletes who have overcome the death of a family member while continuing to inspire others through their character, resilience, and positive spirit.

Malone was selected from a pool of more than 4,500 nominations submitted by over 415 public and private high schools across Georgia.

Dreams of Lois Incorporated is a local nonprofit organization founded by former Positive Athlete award recipient Ivory Cloud. The organization’s mission is to help children thrive regardless of their background or the challenges they face.

Malone will be formally recognized during the 2026 Georgia Positive Athlete Awards Ceremony on June 1 at the Georgia State Capitol, where student-athletes from across the state will be honored. The event will also include the presentation of $38,000 in scholarship awards.
