Drivers in Rome should plan for traffic disruptions next week as a section of Riverside Parkway will be temporarily closed for railroad maintenance.
Officials say Norfolk Southern will begin repairs on the railroad crossing along Riverside Parkway on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, starting at 7 a.m. The work will require a full closure at the crossing, preventing through traffic in the area.
During the closure, access will be limited to local traffic only, and signage will be in place to guide drivers. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes and allow extra travel time.
