The Floyd County Commission will consider approving additional funding Tuesday for ongoing work at the Historic Courthouse, including a change order and expanded contingency funds related to debris removal and testing.

Under New Business Item #5, commissioners are being asked to approve a $168,800 change order for Quality Plus Services, Inc. for work connected to the courthouse project. The request also includes an additional $20,000 contingency fund to cover debris removal and necessary testing as construction continues.

If approved, the measure would require a total budget increase of $188,800, with $9,050 added to account #330451-67036 and $179,750 added to account #330451-67038.

County officials have not yet detailed the specific scope of the additional work, but the funding request suggests ongoing restoration or remediation needs at the historic government building.

The Floyd County Commission is expected to discuss and vote on the proposal during its regular Tuesday meeting.
