A 24-year-old Cartersville woman was killed Sunday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 411 in Bartow County.

Georgia State Patrol troopers were called to the crash scene east of Hamilton Crossing Road around 10:31 a.m. on May 24.

According to a preliminary investigation, a black Dodge Durango was traveling eastbound in the left lane when the driver reportedly failed to maintain her lane and collided with a gray GMC Acadia traveling in the right lane.

After the initial impact, the Durango crossed the median, spun, and entered the westbound lanes, where it struck two additional vehicles. Troopers said the SUV first collided with a white Ford Mustang in the left westbound lane before continuing to rotate and crashing into a white Toyota Land Cruiser in the right lane. The Durango then overturned, coming to rest on its passenger side.

The driver of the Durango, identified as 24-year-old Cynthia Moore of Cartersville, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity was confirmed by Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton.

Emergency responders transported the driver and passenger of the Toyota Land Cruiser to a nearby hospital with what were described as minor injuries. Authorities said no other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
