Kevin Clark Buchanan, 38 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he exploited an 82 year-old man out of thousands of dollars.
Reports said that Buchanan took $2,500 from the victim to build a storage shed behind the victim’s home, but never performed his promise. Police added that Buchanan then coerced the victim to pay him an additional $1,800, causing the victim mental anguish and financial distress.
Police added that Buchanan refused to come to the door of the home after a knock and announce.
Buchanan is charged with exploitation of the elderly, conversion of payments of real property improvements and obstruction of law enforcement.
