Shoppers at the Kroger on Turner McCall Boulevard in Rome were greeted with crowns, sashes, and plenty of heart on Saturday as several members of the Miss Georgia Scholarship Organization rolled up their sleeves to raise money for the American Heart Association (AHA).
Miss Georgia Audrey Kittila, Miss Georgia Teen Reagan Moore, Miss Rome’s Teen Kameron Griffith, Miss Northwest Georgia Sophia Wooten, Miss Northwest Georgia Teen Amelia Hussong, and Miss Georgia Belles Georgia Potts and Kara Ann Dukes, spent the day bagging groceries, assisting customers, and sharing information about heart health.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the titleholders worked nonstop, and their efforts paid off. Together, they helped raise an estimated $1,900 for the American Heart Association. To watch CLICK HERE
During the event, Miss Georgia Audrey Kittila emphasized why the cause matters so deeply to the Miss Georgia organization. Kittila said that the Miss Georgia Scholarship Program has long supported the American Heart Association through fundraising, volunteerism, and statewide awareness campaigns.
Titleholders across Georgia participate in community events each year, using their platforms to promote heart‑healthy living, CPR education, and early prevention.
Beyond their partnership with AHA, the Miss Georgia organization is widely recognized for its commitment to:
- Scholarship opportunities for young women across the state
- Leadership development through public speaking, community service, and advocacy
- Youth mentorship, especially through the Teen program
- Community engagement, encouraging titleholders to serve as role models in their hometowns
Saturday’s event showcased exactly that — young leaders stepping forward to serve their community in a hands‑on, meaningful way
Shoppers were enthusiastic about the effort, many stopping to donate, take photos, or thank the titleholders for their service.
Kroger staff also praised the group for bringing positive energy and purpose to a busy weekend shopping day.
As the Miss Georgia Scholarship Organization continues its year of service, events like this highlight the heart behind the crowns, young women dedicated not just to competition, but to community impact.
