In the wake of the devastating fire on Monday, March 23, residents across Rome and Floyd County continue to mourn the loss of the historic courthouse, a landmark long regarded as a symbol of community identity and heritage.

Although much of the structure was destroyed, local leaders and residents say its significance will endure through shared memories and collective efforts to honor its legacy.

One such effort is now underway, as Floyd County officials announce the sale of commemorative T-shirts featuring artwork of the courthouse created by local artist Siri Selle. The shirts are intended as a tribute to the beloved landmark and a way for the community to come together in remembrance.

The T-shirts, available in both adult (Gildan style #5000) and youth sizes (style #5000B), are being sold strictly at cost. Officials emphasized that proceeds will only cover production expenses, transaction fees, and taxes, with no profit generated from sales.

Residents can place orders ონლაინ at www.floydcountyga.gov/tees by selecting desired sizes and quantities. After submitting the order form, customers will be redirected to complete payment. Officials noted that all orders must match the payment received before they are processed by the production company, High Voltage.

The deadline to place an order is Sunday, April 12, at 5:00 p.m., and no late submissions will be accepted.

T-shirts are expected to be available for pickup the following week. Customers will receive pickup details via email, and additional updates will be shared on Floyd County’s social media platforms.

As the community continues to recover, initiatives like this serve as a reminder that while the courthouse may be gone, its legacy remains firmly rooted in the people it brought together.
