Engineer Drenn Morgan has been named Firefighter of the Year by the Cedartown Exchange Club, recognizing two decades of dedication, service, and community impact.
Morgan, a 20-year veteran of the department, serves as the engineer responsible for safely and efficiently transporting crews to emergency scenes. Colleagues say his deep knowledge of the area makes him a “walking GPS,” able to navigate Cedartown’s streets without hesitation.
But his contributions extend far beyond emergency response. For years, Morgan has also played a key role in fire prevention education, reaching hundreds of local elementary school students. Known for his lighthearted approach, he has become a familiar face to many children as one of the department’s fire safety clowns—blending humor with life-saving lessons.
Fellow firefighters say Morgan’s commitment, personality, and connection to the community make him especially deserving of the honor.
As Cedartown celebrates the recognition, residents are encouraged to join in congratulating one of their own for a job well done.
