Casey Brennan Poole, 42 of Adairsville, was arrested this week after reports said he obstructed his arrest during a traffic stop for driving at high rates of speed.
Police said that they stopped Poole for recklessly driving over 100 mph on SR 140 near Rush Chapel Road.
Officers added that when they arrived on the scene, Poole pulled away with a pen in his hand and raised the weapon up in an aggressive manner. Poole is also accused of resisting officers who attempted to handcuff him.
Poole is charged with speeding, reckless driving and obstruction.
