Timothy Dewayne Jackson, 55 of Rome, was arrested this week after reporting a false crime to police.
Reports said that Jackson told police that he was dragged by a woman’s car at the Wingstop on Turner McCall Bvd. However, two witness statements said that it was not true.
Reports went on to say that Jackson was seen cursing at the woman and grabbing a child inside the store. In addition, the witnesses stated that the woman was crying and was attempting to get away from Jackson.
After leaving the store, Jackson reportedly began to bang on the victim’s car and began to grab the door handle while the victim was attempting to get away. A witness then told police that Jackson pushed himself from out of a wheelchair while screaming, “don’t run me over”.
Jackson is charged with false report of a crime, cruelty to children and criminal trespass.
