Dr. Stephen King has stepped down from Post 3 on the Calhoun City Schools Board of Education, with his resignation taking effect March 23, 2026. The announcement was made during this week’s board meeting.
School leaders recognized King’s years of service and his contributions to students, staff, and the broader community during his time on the board.
The vacant seat will be filled through the standard election process. The position is set to appear on the November 2026 ballot, with candidate qualifying beginning in August.
District officials say they will work to ensure a smooth transition as the board continues its operations.
