Registration is still open for one of Rome’s most festive spring traditions as the 10th Annual Leprechaun-a-thon 5K and Health Walk prepares to take over downtown on Saturday, March 14.

The event, sponsored by Atrium Health Floyd and Harbin Clinic, will feature a 5K race beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Health Walk stepping off at 5:45 p.m.

Organizers encourage participants to register by Sunday, March 8, to guarantee their preferred T-shirt size. Sizes cannot be guaranteed for registrations received after that date. Online registration is available at RunSignUp.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries, supporting efforts to combat hunger across the local community.

Participants are encouraged to embrace the St. Patrick’s Day spirit by wearing festive green attire and creative leprechaun costumes. A costume contest will kick off at 5 p.m., ahead of the races. After crossing the finish line, runners and walkers can cool off at a post-race foam party, with awards scheduled to be presented around 6:30 p.m.

New this year, every registered participant will receive a complimentary ticket to the St. Paddy’s Day Concert at the Forum River Center, featuring Babe’s Bayou.

Race registration is $41 for the 5K and $20 for the Health Walk.

Organizers say the annual event continues to grow each year, bringing the community together for an evening of fitness, fun and philanthropy.
