Hannah Cheyenne Leatherwood, 26, and Justin Tyler Leslie, 25, both of Rome, were arrested this week after reports said they failed to provide a sanitary and safe living environment for children at her home on Fosters Bend Road.
Reports stated that officers found old food on the floor and furniture, trash, dirty dishes, mounds of dirty clothes, crumbs on the floors, old beverage containers, cigarette butts on the floors, expired food in the fridge as well as a brown and black grimy substance in the bottom of the fridge.
Officers added that in one of the bathrooms the toilet was caked with feces and contained brown and green water. The carpet in the home was also saturated with dirt and other substances that caused the bottom of the children’s feet to be back.
Both are charged with 2nd degree cruelty to children.
