A Chattooga County man has been sentenced after a jury convicted him of a series of violent and sexual offenses involving several children in his household, according to the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office. Jurors found Timmy Glenn guilty of rape, aggravated sexual battery, two counts of child molestation, two counts of first‑degree cruelty to children, two counts of second‑degree cruelty to children, and simple battery.

Prosecutors said the case began when two children escaped the home and sought help from relatives after one of them was beaten with a large wooden paddle. Their report led the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Family and Children Services to conduct a welfare check, during which two children were removed from the residence for their safety.
Detective Daniel Sanford led the investigation and arranged forensic interviews at the Children’s Advocacy Center.

During those interviews, children described being struck repeatedly with a wooden paddle—sometimes several times a day—resulting in significant bruising. After learning they would not be returned to Glenn’s care, the children later disclosed additional allegations, including repeated use of a tasing device and multiple acts of sexual abuse involving three of the children.

Two other children living in the home were also interviewed. One reported sexual abuse, and another provided testimony that prosecutors said confirmed a broader pattern of physical and sexual mistreatment inside the residence.

The district attorney’s office said the children’s disclosures were crucial in exposing what they described as prolonged and severe abuse.
