A popular local restaurant has unexpectedly shut its doors, leaving customers with questions and concern. A notice posted on the front door of Buffalo’s Southwest Cafe in Rome states, “By order of City/County Officials we will be temp closed.”

As of now, officials with the City of Rome and Floyd County have not released a public statement explaining what led to the action.

It is also unclear how long the restaurant will remain closed or what steps, if any, are required before it can reopen.

Buffalo’s has been a familiar spot for residents, known for its casual dining atmosphere and wings, and the sudden closure has drawn attention from regular customers.

News update, Commissioner Scotty Hancock has contacted Coosa Valley News to confirm that neither the city nor the county are responsible for the shutdown of Buffaloes. They have been also in contact with the health department and that is also not an issue.

Attempts to reach management for comment have been unsuccessful. This is a developing story.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
