An inmate at the Floyd County Jail, Mae Leigh Woods, 42 of Rome, is facing additional charges this week after she allegedly attacked a 40 year-old woman.
Reports said that Woods repeatedly struck the victim while placing her in fear of her safety.
The incident occurred after Woods was being booked into the jail for trespassing at a location on Maple Avenue.
Woods is charged with criminal trespass, unlawful acts in a violence in a penal institution, simple battery and simple assault.
