Dale Jackson Early Jr, 24 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he extorted and harassed a man.
Reports said that Early threatened to accuse the victim of a sexual offense that allegedly took place 5-6 years prior. Through these threats, Early obtained $1,000 from the victim. Early then allegedly threatened to release incriminating video of the victim on social media and lie to their employer about his alleged crimes to get him fired.
Early then reportedly attempted to extract another $500 from the victim using threats.
Police stated that when they arrived at Early’s home, he fled the house on foot.
Early is charged with theft by extortion, harassing communications and obstruction.
