Rockmart High School head football coach Biff Parsons has resigned from his position with the Yellow Jackets to accept the head coaching job at Hart County High School.

Parsons steps down after a highly successful tenure at Rockmart, where he compiled a record of 90-20 over nine seasons and guided the Yellow Jackets to multiple region championships and consistent playoff appearances. Parsons never missed the postseason during his time leading Rockmart and helped restore the program to prominence after years of middling results. His teams captured eight consecutive region titles and reached state championship games under his leadership.

Parsons will take over the Hart County Bulldogs football program following approval from the Hart County Board of Education. Hart County’s football team has had mixed results over the past decade, with records reflecting a number of challenging seasons:

Parsons’ arrival is expected to bring a new direction to Hart County’s football program. School officials said they are optimistic about the change and are eager to see how Parsons applies his experience and approach to elevate the team after a 3-8 season in 2025.

Rockmart officials noted that a search for their next head football coach will begin immediately
