Matthew Allen Wagner, 41 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he scared numerous children inside a home on North Avery Road by showing up drunk and acting in a boisterous manner while banging on the door.
The victim told police that Wagner was repeatedly asked to leave the property as he used vulgar, profane, loud, and unbecoming language, which placed the woman and her children in fear of their safety.
Officers added that Wagner gave them a fake name while being questioned. Wagner is also accused of pulling away from officers as they attempted to place him under arrest.
Wagner is charged with simple assault, criminal trespass, three counts of obstruction, giving false information to police, public drunk, disorderly conduct and probation violation.
