Jodie Marie Barger, 44, and Albert Eugene Barger, 45, both of Lindale, were arrested this week after reports said they schemed to steal hundreds of dollars in merchandise from Walmart.
According to police, the couple used a cellphone at a self-checkout register to make it appear as though items were being paid for. Investigators said they left the store without paying for several items, including dog food, pet supplies, clothing, a baby monitor, and food. The total value of the items taken was listed at $433.27.
Both are charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and theft by shoplifting.
Jodie Barger is additionally charged with driving without insurance.
