Habitat for Humanity Coosa Valley will celebrate a major milestone with the groundbreaking of its 62nd home this Saturday, January 10, at 11:00 a.m., marking continued momentum in providing affordable homeownership opportunities in Floyd County.

The groundbreaking will take place at 510 Nixon Ave, Rome, GA 30161, in South Rome. Community members, volunteers, partners, and supporters are invited to attend.

This event follows the dedication of Habitat Coosa Valley’s 61st home in North Rome in November, highlighting the organization’s strong forward momentum.

“We just dedicated our 61st home in North Rome in November and are excited that, with the energy and support of our community, we are able to break ground again so quickly,” said the Habitat Coosa Valley Executive Director.

In addition to the groundbreaking, Habitat Coosa Valley is now accepting applications for homeownership through February 27, 2026. Applications are available online at habitatcoosavalley.org or may be picked up in person at the Habitat ReStore, located at 504 East First Ave, Rome, GA 30161.

To submit an application, prospective homeowners are required to attend a homeowner information session. Registration for information sessions is available at habitatcoosavalley.org.

Habitat homeowners are active participants in building a better home and a brighter future for themselves and their families, partnering with volunteers to create safe, affordable housing.
