Tania Selena Ervin, 52 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she starved a dog to near death at a home on Clark Avenue.
Reports said that officers found her dog severely emaciated. The animal’s ribs, lumbar, vertebrae, pelvic bones and all bony prominences were evident from a distance. The animal showed no discernible body fat and a noticeable loss of muscle mass. It was also missing hair and scored a 1 out of 9 on the Purina Body Conditioning Scale.
Ervin is charged with cruelty to animals.
