James Williams Lampru, 40 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he violated the terms of being a sex offender when he gained employment less than 1000 feet of numerous churches.
Reports said that Lampru worked at a retail establishment on East 2n Avenue near downtown Rome.
Police said that he is also accused of failing to register his move to Rome within 72 hours.
Lampru was convicted for sex crimes in 2014 in Walker County.
Lampru is charged with sex offender restriction and registration.
