Deantae Jamal Ervin, 24 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he failed to provide adequate care to three dogs at his home on Clark Avenue.
Reports said that Ervin starved the animals to the point they were malnourished and in a condition that their ribs, lumbar vertebrae, pelvic bones were all clearly visible. Two of the dogs rated a 1 out of 9 and the other a 2 out of 9 on the Purina Body Conditioning scale.
Ervin is charged with three counts cruelty to animals.
