Jerome Jan Schoonhoven, 58 of Alabama, was killed in a one vehicle accident earlier the week on Cedartown Highway at Shorthorn Road.
Reports said that Schoonhoven’s Toyota Tacoma was southbound when his truck slid off the highway, struck a driveway embankment, and was catapulted into the air, flipping end over end, before coming to a rest approximately 150 feet away.
” Floyd County Chief Deputy Coroner Chris Giles said that Schoonhoven was declared dead at the scene.
Giles added that it appeared that Schoonhoven was not wearing a seatbelt, but he was not thrown from the wreck.
