A 28 year-old homeless Rome man, Johnathon Micah Chapman, was arrested this week after reports said he attacked and destroyed property belonging to a fellow homeless man he shared a residence with over the past few months.

Reports said that Chapman hit the victim in the face with a closed fist.  He then allegedly damaged two tents, clothing, food, and electronics, all valued at $500.

Police added that the two shared a camp together on the foot trails at the end of East 4th Street for the past two months.

Chapman is charged with battery and criminal trespass.
