Benjamin Caleb Waits, 35 of Silver Creek, was arrested this week after a traffic stop on Spring Street led police to allegdly find forged checks and stolen bank cards.
Police said that they initially stopped Waits for driving with a broken brake light. A search of the vehicle led officers to locate numerous debit/credit cards that belonged to others. They also found over 10 checks that had fictitious names or had been altered.
A further search resulted in police locating a glass smoking pipe containing methamphetamine.
Waits is charged with 3rd degree forgery, financial transaction card theft, possession of marijuana, possession of drug related objects, brake light violation and probation violation.
