Jeffery James Lovingood JR, 34 of Rome, is facing numerous charges after he allegedly attempted to eat a bag of drugs while being booked into the Floyd County Jail.
Reports stated that Lovingood was being booked on an obstruction charge following a probation violation arrest. Lovingood allegedly attempted to flee from officers on foot at a home on Avenue B.
Officers added that after arriving at the jail he tried to eat a baggie of suspected marijuana while in the booking area.
Lovingood is charged with obstruction, possession of marijuana, possession of drugs by an inmate tampering with evidence and two counts probation violation.
