Austen Thomas Harrison, 30 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he destroyed an elderly woman’s property while placing her in fear of her safety.

Reports said that Harrison picked up his grandmother’s chair and tossed it, causing it to break.

Harrison then allegedly took the victim’s phone in an effort to prevent her from calling 911 for help.

The incident occurred at a home on Old Summerville Road.

Harrison is charged with criminal trespass, exploitation/intimidation of the elderly and obstruction of a person making a 911 call.
