A 27-year-old Rome man was arrested this week following a violent altercation at a home on Chef Van Drive, authorities said.
According to police reports, Christopher Weldon Vulliet allegedly grabbed a 29-year-old woman by the jaw on two separate occasions, causing injury. Officers said Vulliet refused commands and had to be tackled in order to be detained.
During the incident, Vulliet reportedly kicked and punched holes in walls and an air conditioning vent inside the home. Police also said he broke two glass cups during his arrest and punched his roommate in the face, leaving a black eye.
Vulliet is charged with simple battery, battery, criminal trespass, second-degree criminal damage to property, obstruction, and pedestrian under the influence, officials said.
