Billy Lee Byrd JR, 53 of Rockmart, a convicted felon, was jailed in Rome this week after reports said he was found in possession of drugs and a gun.
Police said that Byrd was found with a Colt Delta Elite 10mm handgun while in the bathroom at the Creek Inn back on August 1, 2020. Officers also found methamphetamine and a glass smoking device in his possession.
Byrd was transported from the Jenkins Correctional Facility this week to face the charges.
Byrd is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and a brake light violation.
