Polk School District is proud to announce outstanding results from the 2025 College and Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI), released by the Georgia Department of Education. The latest data reflects strong academic progress, record-setting scores, and continued growth across multiple schools and performance areas.
Established in 2012, the CCRPI provides a comprehensive measure of student achievement and progress across Georgia’s public schools. The index is composed of four main categories—Content Mastery, Progress, Closing Gaps, and Readiness—with an additional Graduation Rate category for high schools. While CCRPI calculations have evolved over the years, the data offers a clear view of Polk School District’s steady upward trajectory.
Content Mastery
The Content Mastery measure evaluates student performance on Georgia Milestones Assessments. Polk School District reported significant gains in this area for 2025:
Eight of ten schools increased their Content Mastery scores.
Five of six elementary schools and both middle schools outpaced the state’s average growth (0.8 points at the elementary level and 1.6 points at the middle school level).
Youngs Grove Elementary achieved a nearly 10-point increase from 2024 to 2025.
Cherokee, Northside, Van Wert, and Youngs Grove Elementary Schools, along with Cedartown High School, earned their highest Content Mastery scores ever.
Progress
Progress measures individual student growth by comparing year-to-year Georgia Milestones results, providing a deeper understanding of how much learning students gain over time.
Five elementary schools, both middle schools, and both high schools scored above 80, signaling exceptional student growth.
Cherokee and Van Wert Elementary Schools posted their highest Progress scores ever, surpassing the state average, which declined for elementary schools this year.
Closing Gaps
The Closing Gaps category assesses how well schools are supporting all student groups, including economically disadvantaged students, English-Language Learners, and Students with Disabilities.
Cherokee and Youngs Grove Elementary Schools earned perfect scores of 100, reflecting exceptional growth across nearly all subgroups and subjects.
Northside Elementary also exceeded the state average in this category.
Readiness
Readiness evaluates elements linked to future success, including reading comprehension, attendance, and participation in fine arts, CTAE, foreign language, and computer science. For high schools, it also measures college and career indicators such as AP/Dual Enrollment participation, SAT/ACT/ASVAB scores, and industry credential completion.
Northside, Van Wert, Westside, and Youngs Grove Elementary Schools, along with Rockmart and Cedartown Middle Schools, recorded their highest Readiness scores ever.
Cedartown High School and Rockmart High School continued their excellence by exceeding the State of Georgia’s graduation rate, while Polk School District overall achieved its highest graduation rate to date.
“These results reflect the dedication and hard work of our students, teachers, staff, and families,” said [Insert Superintendent’s Name], Superintendent of Polk School District. “We are extremely proud of the progress we’ve made and remain committed to preparing every student for success in college, career, and life.”
