Timothy James Canikerscher, 32 of Haiku, Hawaii, was jailed in Rome after reports said he elbowed an officer in the face while being booked into the Floyd County Jail.
Reports said that Canikerscher had been taken into custody on Broad Street near East 2nd Avenue for city drunkenness before being taken to jail. Once in the booking room, Canikerscher elbowed the officer in the face, resulting in a busted nose. Reports said that the officer bleed “profusely” from the attack.
Cainkerscher is charged with city drunkenness, aggravated battery against a police officer and unlawful acts in a penal institution.
