Jacob Robert Owen, 30 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he forcefully took a woman’s cellphone and broke it.
Reports said that the victim’s cellphone was valued at $1,000.
Owen is charged with simple battery and 2nd degree criminal damage to property.
