The Rome City Commission has decided to revoke the beer package license of an East Rome convenience store, following a recommendation from the Alcohol Control Commission (ACC).
The decision stems from two incidents over the summer involving the K&A Mart on Maple Avenue. In addition to the license revocation, the store was also fined $2,000.
Acording to reports, on July 23, police found seven coin-operated amusement machines inside the store, one more than the six legally permitted. Officers also noted that people were smoking near the machines and that there appeared to be open containers of alcohol on the premises.
On August 7, the Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force conducted a raid at the same location, leading to the arrest of two individuals on cocaine possession and other related charges.
