Scotty Ray Smith, 50 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after Floyd County Police said they found him driving under the influence of meth after nearly causing a wreck on Burnett Ferry Road.
Police stated that Smith failed to yield at a stop sign and nearly collided with another vehicle.
Officers went on to say that a search of Smith’s vehicle resulted in them finding methamphetamine. They added that Smith also appeared to have been under the influence of the drug.
Smith is charged with possession of methamphetamine, DUI, running a stop sign and probation violation.
