Rockmart police have confirmed that a juvenile child from a Paulding County elementary school has died while on a school field trip this week.
Police said that on Wednesday, just after lunch, police were dispatched to an a farm on Cartersville Highway in reference to a juvenile not breathing.
Responders said that when they arrived on scene the juvenile was not responsive and they immediately began life saving measures before transporting the child to a local hospital where she passed away.
The criminal investigation division was dispatched to the scene and took over investigations. According to police, “this is still an active investigation and no further comment will be made in regards to this incident at this time. There is no danger to the community.”
