A Cedartown man already in custody on charges related to child exploitation is now facing additional felony counts following a continued investigation by authorities. According to Floyd County Jail reports, 65-year-old Garry Duane Hand, a registered sex offender, allegedly encouraged a teenage girl to bring other juveniles to his home, offering them goods in exchange for their cooperation.
Investigators say Hand transported the victims—ranging in age from 11 to 15—across county lines to various stores and restaurants, where he allegedly purchased items such as cell phones, vaping devices, alcohol, food, and electronics. In return, he reportedly sought physical affection and attempted to buy the victims’ silence.
Authorities also allege that Hand took photos and videos of the minors without their knowledge or consent.
Hand now faces multiple new charges, including two counts of human trafficking, three counts of grooming, two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, and two counts of photographing a minor by a sex offender without consent.
He was previously arrested in August on related charges of grooming a minor, child molestation, and sexual battery. The case remains under investigation.
