Christopher Lee Wedgeworth, 31 of Summerville, was arrested this week after reports said he used his fist to strike a 30 year-old female roommate in the face.
The incident occurred in front of a 1 and 5 year-old child.
When police arrived, Wedgeworth allegedly gave police a fake name as his own.
Wedgeworth is charged with battery, two counts cruelty to children, giving false information to police and obstruction.
