Jake Edward Roberts, 30 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he used a child to steal $500 in lost cash.
Police said that while at a store on Martha Berry Highway, Roberts had a child go pick up the cash and then proceeded to not attempt to return the lost money to its owner.
The alleged theft occurred back on September 9th.
Roberts is charged with theft of mislaid property, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and failure to appear.
