Erin Ranee Young, former coordinator of the Floyd County Drug Court, was sentenced last week to two years in prison after pleading guilty to felony sexual contact with a program participant under her supervision.

Prosecutors said Young, 39, engaged in a sexual relationship with a participant and gave him special treatment not afforded to others in the program.

Defense attorney Wade Hoyt said Young was going through a difficult time, dealing with a divorce and caring for her dying father. He asked for leniency, citing her clean record and personal losses, including her job, home, and financial stability.

Judge Bryan Johnson allowed her several days to arrange her affairs before reporting to prison.
